26,000 Indonesian women suffer cervical cancer

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, PEKANBARU - Directorate General of Medical Service at the Ministry of Health mentions that as many as 26,169 Indonesian women suffer cervical cancer. Most of women who develop the cancer are between the age of 45-54 years old.

"About 32.29 percent or 8,451 are between 45 to 54 years," the Head of Anti Cervical Cancer Act (GAKSI), Asep Rachmatullah, said on Saturday.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - State-owned oil and gas company, Pertamina, acquires oil and gas block 405a in Algeria, Africa, from US company ConocoPhilips. Pertamina has signed the agreement with ConocoPhilips.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Provincial Government of Jakarta is perfecting an early warning system for flood, the biggest problem in the capital city during rainy season. The impact of the flood could be minimized and controlled with the system, Deputy of Public Work Department of Jakarta, Tarjuki, said.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - Indonesian Government will visit countries in Europe on December to discuss the plan of raising import tax on crude palm oil (CPO). Government would visit two biggest importers of Indonesian CPO, France and Netherlands, Vice Minister of Trade Bayu Krisnamurthi said.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BATAM - The Maritime and Fisheries Affairs Ministry announced that Indonesian fish exports had reached 4 billion USD. But, the country’s exports is still lagging behind Thailand and Vietnam in the sector, according to the ministry`s official.
