REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The investigative report on the Sukhoi Superjet 100 crash in Mount Salak, Bogor, West Java, in May this year was objectively prepared and is balanced, according to Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Mikhail Galuzin Yurievich.

"Based on expert reports, the investigation was done in line with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards," he said on Tuesday.

According to Yurievich, the report is the result of effective and constructive cooperation between Russian and Indonesian experts from the Interstate Aviation Committee, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation, and the National Transportation Safety Committee.

"The report's contents and conclusion have been already delivered to all related parties, namely Russia, Indonesia, the US and France," he stated. "The report will be used to improve international aviation safety."

"Besides, it will also help strengthen cooperation between Russian and Indonesia aviation authorities and other related agencies," he added.

Russia and Indonesia have also decided to increase cooperation in disaster management and transportation. "The bilateral cooperation covers civil aviation, such as the procurement of Russian civilian aircraft for national transport," Yurievich noted.

He also expressed his condolences over the victims of the ill-fated Sukhoi aircraft that crashed on May 9 this year. The crash claimed 45 lives, comprising two pilots, a navigator, a flight test engineer, and 41 passengers.

Among the passengers were four personnel from Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC), one from an aircraft engine factory (Snecma), and 36 invited guests (34 Indonesians, a US itizen, and a Frenchman).
